St Petersburg was built on flat marshland so you will have no worries about walking up and down hills as there are none all is perfect for just about every walking tour even whole day walking tours which can last up to 7 hours are easily manageable in St Petersburg , you should be aware that the weather can be very unpredictable at times, though the summer months from May till August are usually very good there are times when it can not be the best of weather to do any walking tours or at least you should bring some kind of water proof clothing just in case it rains.
